CFAA “Pre-CFA Exam Round Table Discussion” Claims Success
On Wednesday, May 20th, 2009, Chinese Finance Association of America successfully hosted the “Pre-CFA Exam Round Table Discussion” at the Union League Club of Chicago. The discussion attracted dozens of attendees including current CFA exam candidates on different levels, as well as those who are considering entering the CFA program in the near future.

Six panelists shared their valuable experiences and insights with the attendees on the CFA exams, as well as the CFA Charter’s impact on their career development. The seasoned CFA Charter holder panelists from Panel One consisted of Dr. Wei Li, Vivian Lin, and Diana Sheu and their backgrounds include quantitative investment, fundamental investment, and financial consulting industries, respectively. Their comments reinforced the value of the CFA charter and CFA exams on their professional development in a variety of ways, including increased professional development opportunities, enhanced knowledge in different areas of equity, fixed income, and financial advisory, strengthened ethics and professional standards, and dedication and commitment to career development.

Three other panelists from Panel Two – Harry Gao, Dr. Rui Zheng and Cecilica Chung also shared their exam taking and preparation tips with the attendees, such as the time of preparation, the materials for the preparation, as well as the technical focus points during the exams.
In the Q&A session, the attendees raised a wide range of questions to the panelists. The benefits of entering CFA program in improving knowledge in various investment and financial areas, helping career development, as well as enhancing ethics and professional standards were consistently reinforced by the panelists. The entire discussion was filled with a highly interactive, open and informative atmosphere and received widely positive feedback from the attendees.
