Job Openings at a Large Worldwide Hedge Fund based in NY/CT

Managing Director, High Frequency Trading System Development:Responsible for keeping the company on the bleeding edge of trading system design. Successful candidate will lead a team of developers to ensure that the company has the best technology possible for low latency trading of financial instruments worldwide. Must have experience building similar systems for other major firms, including guru-level low latency, C/C++/Linux, automated trading, market data, and FIX expertise. Will report directly to the CEO. Opening available immediately. Compensation in mid six figure with profit participation potential.
Financial Data Specialist: will develop software for data collection, validation and monitor daily data processing operations. Must be familiar with Unix/Linux environment, C++/C and Object Oriented programming and basic shell scripting and common utilities. Knowledge of Perl scripting is preferred but not required. Familiar with software design and implementation skills, data structures and basic algorithms. Previous knowledge about finance is not required. Basic knowledge of statistics is preferred. Position based in Greenwich, CT.
Trading System Operator (Development): We are looking for a candidate to join our trading system operations team in a development capacity. The candidate must have strong development background, very strong problem solving ability, good communications skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a very fast-paced environment. The role will have some support and on-call responsibilities. From a technical perspective, the candidate must be familiar with unix, have very strong perl and sql skills. C or Java candidates will be considered if they demonstrate ability to learn Perl quickly.
Trading System Operator (Support): We are looking for a candidate to fill the support role in our trading system operations team. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, excellent problem solving ability, attention to detail, and basic exposure to unix, shell scripting or perl, and sql. The candidate will work on various trading related operations: testing new trading destinations, reconciling trades/positions/pnl, handling trader requests, troubleshooting fills and trading issues, etc… Position based in Greenwich, CT.

The New York Branch, which commenced business operations in the Fall of 2008, establishes a global presence for China Merchants Bank.
This exciting position at the New York Branch reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer/ Vice President of Finance & Accounting.
Responsibilities
Provide support of finance and accounting systems and records function for the branch.
Provide support for general ledger and records, tax function, accounts payable and receivable function, and assets and liabilities management function.
Manage daily cash position and provide ongoing supervision of Finance and Accounting department operations.
Manage the operating expenses, including staff cost, general and administrative expenses, depreciation, rental expenses and tax.
Supervise and organize annual closing exercise and independent auditing processes.
Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, and the Board of Directors.
Provide Executive Office with required support in connection with the accounting and finance function of the Branch.
Act as a liaison with IT Department with respect to establishing appropriate accounting for new products, as well as developing and maintaining the core accounting module to ensure that reporting needs are effectively and efficiently met.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Accounting or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar accounting role; 10 years of professional finance and accounting experience is preferred.
Experience working for a similar international branch is strongly preferred; experience at a Chinese bank is a plus.
Bilingual (English and Mandarin) written and oral communication skills is mandatory.
CPA or Chinese equivalent a plus.
Knowledge of loans, SWIFT, US Dollar Clearing, Trade Finance, foreign exchange and money markets is required; understanding of securities and derivatives is preferred, but not required.
Previous experience in a supervisory position is mandatory.
Thorough understanding of accounting and finance systems typically in current use at U.S. branches of international banks, and experience in maintenance of banking GL systems is required.
Ability to assume a leadership role within the Branch.
Proven experience in working in a team environment and seen as a strong team player.
Supervise and develop junior staff.
Able to prioritize and multi-task; demonstrate flexibility.
Willingness to take initiative.
Strong computer skills are essential. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is mandatory. Hands-on experience with SAP or comparable platform is strongly preferred.
Experience using Temenos & T24/Globus systems is preferred.
